Minnesota is great in the summertime, like parts of southern Canada. In the winter, the long winter season of hockey, it's fit only for polar bears and indigenous seal-hunters. BRRRR!!
Zach and his bride purchased a house there in order to mollify her parents, who are too frozen to move. They'll visit them there during the summers, but they'll spend most of the year in the destination-spot of the universe, Detroit. Bank on it.
In all seriousness, Zach will go where the money is the most-plentiful. Which team is likely to be the most generous? The Devils? No. The Wild? Well, they have made it a well-known practice of being chintzy with their few stars, and letting them walk instead of locking them up with juicy long-term deals. The Wings? Ah, now we're getting somewhere. Give your boy a chance to play with some top-flight talent in an Original Six town that's crazy about hockey, while getting paid the big guaranteed bucks. Here, sign this piece of paper...pay no attention to the flames along the bottom-edge. Yes, sign it in blood, so it's binding eternally.
For the record, I'm not gaga over Suter. I'd rather wait a year, and go after Weber.
