And you thought Forsberg was expensive... Thrashers get Tkachuk

The resounding majority of pundits agreed the Nashville Predators gave up "a lot" for Peter Forsberg. I thought it was reasonable. Scottie Upshall hasn't played a full season in the NHL so he is a bit of a risk too, and the draft picks will likely be late choices. But that's nothing compared to what Atlanta just paid for Keith Tkachuk, another former All-Star showing signs of slowing down. The Thrashers gave up Glen Metropolit (decent 2-way forward), a 1st and 3rd round pick this year, and a 2nd rounder next year.... AND, if TK signs in Atlanta the Blues get the Thrashers 2008 1st rounder too.
Tkachuk will bolster their offense and toughness for the playoffs, but I thought they were looking for a centre? Isn't he still a winger or can he play both?
They also picked up Alexei Zhitnik in exchange for Braydon Coburn. Zhitnik will give them a boost on the blueline for a playoff run, Coburn is a very good pickup for the Flyers who are putting together an impressive roster of young talent. Whether or not all of that talent will bloom is questionable, but still.
