.....Keith Ballard may have been Phoenix' best defenseman a couple years ago, but he's like Shane Hnidy for the Bruins, just another filler waiting to fill a sixth spot. And even though he's not playing the greatest, Kaberle is better than any defenseman on the Canucks if he gets going, nobody has a better first pass on the breakout than Kaberle...he just needs to shoot more.
.....The Bruins had some missed opportunities, as did the Canucks...but to me, that's what made this game so exciting from the beginning. The missed opportunities are a good indication of a good game, it's if there wasn't any missed opportunities, that's when we'd know the game is stinking.
.....I know Chara's having a tough time in front of the net on the PP, but trying him in that spot IS the new setup for the Bruins, whose PP was only working at an 8% success rate. Though the Bruins didn't score, the PP had lots of chance...we just couldn't put it past Luongo.
.....As for the refs, it's funny how, depending on which team you're cheering for, how bad the refs are against your team. Canucks fans are saying the refs are favoring the Bruins, and Bruins fans say the refs are favoring the Canucks. Me, I had no problems with the refs at all. Referees in all sports have a tough job, from enlarged or smaller strike zones in MLB and blown calls on perfect games, the fact travelling barely exist anymore in the NBA, and even with video replay, the refs in the NFL still make mistakes. In the NHL, considering the speed of the game, it is inevitable that some infractions are going to be missed and sometimes, the chintzy calls are going to be made. Life goes on...D'
PS: Any argument to get Tyler Seguin more ice time, I'll all for it.
