Hi,
I'm trying to pull together (for next weekend!) a Whodunit sleepover party for my soon to be 13 y/o. The entire reason for this was to keep the cost down and entertaining at the same time. I know - quite a task!
I have some leftover Lumniol from his birthday party from a couple of years ago. We did a Mr. Science (Dad played Einstien)theme and had phosphoresence reaction and an oscillating reaction ( we got the reagents over the internet) and the boys made GAK. Anyways...with the Luminol (if it still works) we can obtain a sample of the culprit's DNA. All 'suspects' (party guests) will have to donate tissues for DNA sampling (a couple of skin flakes) I think I can punch up some faux DNA assays off my computer. I'm taking a biology class and think I can find a fairly good DNA assay picture to replicate.
I need help in the creative parts - such as the story line! These boys love to problem solve. My son thinks the end result should be a surprise. A "think outside of the box" ending such as: the victim is found alive in the end and after cutting himself shaving and screaming bloody murder runs out the back to the ER. I know, I know...wouldn't there be hair clippings and shaver sitting by the crime scene ? Those are the little aspects that are time consuming and mind boggling to me. Anybody with a lot of party experience (esp. w/ male tweens) care to take pity on a stressed out mom and give me some tips?! TIA
