Start a bonfire at night, then have all the guests sit around it. Prepare a number of bags prior to the outing and in each bag included different scarey foods that (with some imagination) feel like human limbs. One example of such food is for "fingers" use cold carrot sticks as you pass each bag around, make up a story to go along with the foods or parts of the human body. For instance you could start off by saying "...Fredd was a mad scientist who loved experimenting. He was working in his lab one day when one of his experiments went terribly wrong. AFter his body was taken to the hospital for further analizsis as it was Fredd's first wish as a scientist was that his body parts would be used for experiment, so the doctor surjectly took out Fredd's brain..." (then pass around speggetti or something that could possibly feel like Mr. Fredd's brain. Use your imagination to create the rest and have fun with the activity! Its a great way to get childeren in the creative, scarey way to get childeren of any age into the halloween mood!
If that idea didnt appeal to you, try the classics; bobbing for apples (always a fun one), have scarey (I recommend PG movies or cute ones like Winnie the Pooh's Halloween). You also can never go wrong with spooky decorating and festive foods!
Also, a great activity for any type of "unorganized" partys is
Guess How Many
Directions: Fill a jar with candy. Have children write their name on a small piece of paper and their guess as to how many candies are in the jar. The child who guesses the right number, or comes closest, gets a sucker. The candy in the jar is then divided among the children. A variation would be that the winner takes the jar of candy home to share with their family.
I hope I helped out and I hope that your party is the spooky event of the season!
