I am planning a carnival party for my youngest daughter on July 13th, and am in dire need for ideas on entertainment. Does anyone have any tips on booth or game ideas? There will be 18 - 10 year old girls. We have rented a face painter, bouncer, cotton candy machine, and sno cone machine, but what we can only take 6 kids in the bouncer at a time.... we need to figure out what other (more inexpensive) things to do while the others are waiting....Thanks all!

A friend of mine had a carnival party. The ticket booth was made out of a refrigerator box and tickets were purchased at a party store. Each child had to have tickets to play the games, and of course the tickets were free. If you won the game, you got to pick from several prizes available. The prizes were just little cheap trinkets you could purchase in bulk.

Poles were used to wrap painted paper around. There was one person working each booth and handing out the prizes. Each child was given a brown paper bag to hold their prizes.

Food was offered in 'carnival style'; there were hot dogs wrapped in foil, bags of chips, nachos with cheese and cookies. They even had little ice cream cup, cup cakes. You could also serve popcorn in those cute little red and white striped boxes.

The games she had were a (rubber) duck pond, fishing, tic-tac-toe toss, balloon darts, can toss, basketball throw and horse shoes. At the end of the party the children hit the piņata.

I had a carnival party for my six year old this past year. I set up several games for the kids to play and win prizes. One booth was a pin the nose on the clown that I found at a Dollar Tree here in town. One was a bean bag toss. I had the party in the gym at a local church and they a piece of plywood with holes cut out and a clown painted on it. They didn't mind me using it. The next booth was a bowling game. I got a plastic bowling set at Wal-Mart. Then I had a putt-putt game where the kids tried to ring the hole with a golf ball. I used my brother's practice putting green for this. Another idea could be a ring toss. You could get 2 liter coke bottles, still full or filled with water (we drink cokes, so I wouldn't have to worry about them not being used) and get some plastic rings for them to toss and try to ring. We also had the moon walk, face painting and a pinata. Another thing the kids loved was dancing. I had tried to find carnival music to play in the background, but couldn't find it. I did find a kid's rock CD that had cute songs like "Twist and Shout" and "Monster Mash". They liked dancing and being silly. Hope this helps. Good luck!

For my kids carnival bday we had the duck pond, a balloon pop where I taped small balloons to a big piece of cardboard and the kids used something to pop one. If there was a prize inside the balloon, they kept the prize (they didn't know all balloons had prizes in them). We also had a face painter, a dig for gold where I spray painted rocks gold then buried them in a big box of sand, they used plastic spoons to try and dig for gold. We had a lollipop game where I colored a stripe around the bottom of the sucker stick, then stuck all of them in an upside down cardboard flat box (one that holds cans of pop)The kids picked a sucker and if it had a stripe on the bottom, they kept the sucker (they didn't know all suckers had stripes). I painted a clown on a big piece of cardboard and cut a hole in his belly and had a bean bag toss.
