I'm having a luau birthday party for my seven year old and am inviting both boys and girls. The only games I can think of are limbo, hula dancing and tug o war. Can you please suggest some others. Does anyone know where I can find info on how to hula.

You can have two kids standing opposite each other on one foot, like a flamingo. give each a water gun and have them shoot at each other until one looses his/her balance. Losers sit out and winners compete again until there is one winner. Pinata's are a great idea. Musical chairs with Hawaiian music. Have them play tug of war with a sprinkler in the middle. Pass the coconut can be similar to musical chairs also.

Here are a few games and recipes. Feel free to contact me if this isn't what you had in mind!

Mermaid Races
Wrap green crepe paper around guests' legs (from below the knees to ankles) to turn them into mermaids. Set up starting and finishing lines in your living room or back yard and have the mermaids race. The guest who hops across the finish line first wins a prize

Crab Walk
This can be used as an individual race or team relay. Have the children get into the crab walk position (hands and feet on floor with head and torso facing up). Have them race to a finish line or through a course.

Killer Whale Piñata
Sure to make a splashing hit at your party. Simply fill with one of our Piñata Fillers and candy. Also makes a great a room decoration.

Seashells & Cheese
2 cups uncooked seashell macaroni (7 ounces)
¼ cup butter or margarine
¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon ground mustard
¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded or cubed Cheddar cheese (8 ounces)
Heat oven to 350ºF. Cook macaroni as directed on package. While macaroni is cooking, melt butter in 3-quart saucepan over low heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in cheese. Cook, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted.
Drain macaroni. Gently stir macaroni into cheese sauce. Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole. Bake uncovered 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly. Makes 6 servings

Seaweed Salad
½ cup Caesar dressing
1 large or 2 small bunches romaine, torn into bite-size pieces (10 cups)
1 cup Caesar or garlic-flavored croutons
1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Freshly ground pepper
Pour dressing into large salad bowl. Add romaine; toss until coated with dressing. Sprinkle with croutons, cheese and pepper; toss.
Makes 6 servings

Tropical Slushi
Use your kid's favorite strawberry drink mix to cool off with these fun and fruity ice cubes.
1 envelope (2-quart size) strawberry-flavored soft drink mix
2/3 cup sugar
3 cups water
1 pint (2 cups) strawberries, stems removed, or frozen whole strawberries
2 bottles (1 liter each) lemon-lime soda pop
Mix soft drink mix, sugar and water. Pour into divided ice-cube tray. Place 1 whole strawberry in each cube. Freeze at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, place frozen fruit cubes in glasses. Fill glasses with soda pop.
Makes 8 servings
