What kind of stuff do boys and girls both like? Ask your sis! You could have an indoor (or outdoor) campout, but you don't have to have a theme at all! You could just play games, but not have any particular theme. The best thing about that kind of party is you can play any game...it doesn't have to go along with a theme.

Kids just love a treasure hunt. We always do one fot the goodie bags near the end of the party. I split the kids into 4 or 5 in a group. Each group is following a color-coded trail. (The hints are on green paper or yellow paper). There are at least 4 hiding spots before the goodie bags are found. Some good places to hide the goody bags are in the washer or dryer, in the piano stool, or in the fridge.

For goodie bags on my daughter's 7th birthday I bought cute little zip purses with a long strap at the dollar store. I used them for the goodie bags. They were only $1 each. For the boys (and the girl who wouldn't have been caught dead with a purse), I gave them a nerf football instead.

Silly string is a blast if you don't mind the mess in your yard. The kids each get a can and go wild. Have a couple of extra cans because the holes can get clogged. I buy the silly string at a dollar store or at Wal Mart. It does make a mess of the lawn, but comes out of hair and clothes easily.

Have fun!
