We are having a Western Themed Party in our back lane.
All neighbours on the back lane are invited to this party.
Kids are a big part of this equation. I need ideas for games for kids and adults. Food recipes? Anything would be great.

for activities, if you know anyone with unusual pets, guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks whatever ask them to bring them and make a petting zoo, have a square dance, decorate with hay bales (also makes good photo ops) hand out cowboy hats and bandanas (try oreriental trading) maybe there's a place that will bring in ponies (here they will do it for about $100) serve refreshments out of tin pie plates, older kids can help younger kids sing old mcdonald, Pin the Mustache on the Cowboy, you can make kids cowboy vests from plain paper grocery bags oriental trading also has really cheap sherriff stars, you can make lasso favors from inexpensive rope from wal-mart. kids love panning for gold if you have a small kiddie pool fill it with sand and water then spray paint some gravel with metallic gold spray paint and mix it up in the sand. goody bags could be done hobo style with red and white checked fabric
you might also try a relay race where they line up in teams each one must put on western gear and ride a horse on a stick to a certain point and back first team to complete this wins hope this helps!!

Oriental Trading company might have cowboy hats and bandanas you can give out. Trail mix, fruit leather, beef jerky as snack foods. How about a laso contest. Laso the hobby horse..

You could have the kids dress as cowboys and cowgirls for the party. For food do hamburgers, hotdogs, foods that people in the west would eat. Have barrels of hay as places to sit, you could also use wooden barrels for trash cans. For goody bags, you could hand out little figures of horses and/or cows.
