I am starting to plan for my sons 10 birthday. I am tore between 2 ideas. The Camp out Jamboree or what he wants which is a Harry Potter B day. If I go with the Harry Potter I would like it to be like a potion class. (Mad Sceintist) Do you have any ideas for me to go with either party to create a party for boys only. Please Help. Thanks.

We did Harry Potter!

We had a Harry Potter for my nephew a couple of years ago, including a potions class. We used a bunch of different Kool-Aid flavors, including some that change color or have flavors that don't match the colors. We gave each powder a special name and made a big show of the whole thing and had the kids all mix up special brews of their own. They loved it more than we ever imagined they would.

The cake was a golden snitch (easy with a ball-shaped mold). We also had frog-shaped chocolates and Jelly Bellies (for Bertie Bott's) and peppermint patties we called Peppermint Humbugs.

And we played Quidditch in the back yard. Each kid had a broom (which they decorated earlier). We had two goal posts set up, and parents threw plastic balls (the kind they have at Chuck E. Cheese) at the boys while they played (bludgers). Then we strung up fishing wire around the yard, and periodically would send a snitch keychain sailing across the sky along one of the lines for the kids to try to catch.

They didn't want to stop playing.

Overall, the party was a massive success.

for the potions class i would go with the coolaid twist. the powder changes colors when u mix it with water. Also, for candy, chocolate frogs is good and they also sell jelly beans of every flavor, which u can get. I do advise you to be careful..because they do have evry flavor...just like in the movie. The ideas above are good to. About the quidditch match.

I have an idea for party food. What you do is you get those thick pretzel sticks and dip them in melted choclolate but oly like less then half of them because they have to become wands then sprikle them with spprinkles
