My 4 yr old wants a dress up/ tea party for her birthday. The party guest will range in ages from 2 to 7, and as far as I can tell.. it will be just girls. I need some ideas on crafts, games, anything to keep these kids entertained without running me down. I have decided instead of doing a big cake this year, she and I will make cupcakes and decorate them with different color icing, add streamers to the bottom of each one and arrange them to look like a bouquet of balloons.. I know.. I know.. not to "tea party" like.. but hey.. non stressful is what I am aiming at.. Also the only craft idea I do have is buying craft jewerly boxes (pre painted of course) and let each one decorate there own and allow it to be the loot bag..How does that sound? And as loot prizes we have a store where everything is a buck so I'm thinking of buying already made tiare's, stickers, etc.. Any suggestions are welcome as nothing I have mention above is set in stone. THANKS

We have a dollar store here to. I saw little mini tea sets you could see if they have anything like this there. You could draw a teapot on a piece of bristol board and make the lid of the teapot out of paper and the children have to pin the lid on the teapot the one closest wins. You could draw little teapot or teacups and hide them around the house and get the children to look for them and who ever finds the most get the prize. You could also have some fancy clothes for the children could drees up in and take lots of pictures and for their thank you cards put a picture of that child dressed up with the birthday girl. You could also go to Familyfun.com for some ideas. Hope these help Angie.

Well, I agree about the decorations. Have some Bon Bon cookies and little dainties that the girls would like. Also if the girls do not like tea, use iced tea or punch. Otherwise, I like all of your other ideas!

If a non-stressful party is what you're looking for, you might try J.C. Penny's if they have one in your area. Here they do a tea-party for birthdays where they will do their hair and a little makeup and give them dress up clothes to parade around the store in. Then they have a little tea with good dishes and everything in a back room. Its $15 a girl which isn't too awfully bad if you only have a few girls. Good luck and have fun!
