I had the same problem for my sisters 12th Bday. For food you can have some fruits native to Hawaii or find a recipe for cocanut cake. You can find Hawaiian music on special CDs or order one online. You can also teach each person a hula dance. Find steps online. Or you can play Hot cocnut. Alot like Hot potato. You can make grass skirts too. Be creative with material. For invitations you can use tropical clip art and adress them by their Hawaiian name. You can find these at "Find your Hawiian name!.com. There if you scroll down you can also find more recipes. I hope I've been a "BIG" help. Goodbye!

I had a luau for my daughter's first birthday party and it was great...there were alot of older kids there as well...some game ideas may try the limbo or playing volleyball with a big beach ball...i also had a small pool out in the yard for those who wanted to get cooled off (party in middle of july) or even maybe find the traditional meaning of leis or behind the hula dancing and share with them while they are making them...just some ideas...good luck
