Try having a bonfire and roasting marrshmallows or something
Water Balloon Volleyball:
You'll need lots of water balloons stored in a bucket full of water and towels for each pair of children. Divide children into two groups. Pair them off and give each pair a beach towel. One side begins by placing a water balloon in the center of their towel. Each child holds onto one two corners of the towel in their hands. The object is to toss the water balloon over the net with the opposing side catching the balloon in their towel. The volley continues until one side misses and the balloon breaks giving the other team a point. First team to 15 wins.
Variation: If you do not own a volleyball put two sets of pairs a distance apart and have them volley back and forth.
Wits and Consequences
Blow up balloons with questions, written on strips of paper, inside and place balloons in Bag "A". Let each guest reach in and pull out a balloon on their turn. If they answer correctly they stay in the game for another 'round, if they answer incorrectly they pull a balloon out of Bag "B", pop it and have to do what it says..."Rub your tummy and pat your head at the same time", "Strut and cluck like a chicken three times". If they complete their task they can return to the game. If not they can cheer on the remaining players. When all the questions have been answered the games over.
See silly scenes acted out by people who have no idea what they are acting out:
Game type:
Active. A lot of movement may be required.
Rules:
Four people are chosen for the round and three of the four are taken out of the room. The one that remains is told to mime one of the following (or one of your own ideas) in approximately 20 seconds:
1. Changing the diapers of twins
2. Bathing an elephant
3. Jumping from a large tower into a huge bowl of Jello
Before they start, a second person is brought into the room and told to watch. When the first demonstration has been completed, the first person is allowed to retake their place and the third person is brought into the room. The second (who has just seen the demonstration) is told that they have to act out what they have just seen for the third person. After it's done, the fourth person enters and the scene is acted out again by the thired person. The games ends when the third person has done the mime, and the fourth person is asked what they have just seen. They get three guesses. Let the humor begin!
FROZEN T-SHIRT CONTEST
Objective:
Get your frozen T-shirts on first.
Game type:
Active. A lot of movement may be required.
Needed:
Frozen T-shirts
Rules:
T-Shirts are thoroughly soaked the day before and folded up like you would put them away in a drawer. Place them in the freezer overnight. For the contest, everyone grabs a frozen T-shirt and the first one to get their T-shirt all the way on wins. You can have as many players as you have T-shirts. The contestants can do anything to try and get their shirts apart. Some sit on them trying to warm them up, some have poured drinks on them trying to get them to melt. Have them use their imagination as to how they will get the shirt undone and on
NAME THAT TUNE:
Objective:
Just like the old game show, the host plays a few seconds of a song and you try to guess it.
Game type:
Passive. Little or no movement is required.
Needed:
CD Player Music
Rules:
You'll need a CD player and some compact discs with compilations of songs related to your theme (Luau, 50's, retro) or just some good favorites of an era appropriate for your party guests. Play the first few bars, and see which guest can name that tune the fastest. Keep track of points and award the winner a music CD. You can also divide into teams and have teams bid back and forth ("I can name that tune in 4 seconds" "Well I can name that tune in 3 seconds" etc.)
Hope I helped,
