my daughter wants a magic themed birthday party for her 5th in September. I'm going to hire a magician. Does anyone have any ideas for decorations, food or games? The girls are ages 1-8. Thanks for the help

Sounds like a sweet idea!
Heres my suggestion on food :
*Fairy bread stars (use cookie cutters to cut out star shapes on white bread add butter and sprinkles on top, favourite with kids)
* Cup cakes - Decorate with a magic theme, stars, moons, rabbits
* Magican hat shaped cookies
* Jelly - star shape

Decorations :
*Glow in the dark stars
*centerpiece, take a plastic top hat and turn it over, then place a white rabbit plush toy within it.

Games :
2 mins dress up - magicians hat with rabbit, magic wand, playing cards, rope, magic box, white gloves, juggling pins, and a flaming ring or hoop ec ( each child group gets 2 mins or whatever time - depending on age to dress up) other guests judge best dressed, scariest ec, winners get a small prize.

good idea! you could (as a game) teach the kids some simple magic tricks (check out the library) a give supplies for them as party favors
