Hi everyone - i am throwing my son a party on the 8th of April.
He is turning 3.

I just want to see what people think of this -

I am having at a indoor sports centre as his Dad will be at work there on that day .

I will have a car race track ( made from string with balloons tied on to it and the cars are boxes with holes cut out for the kids legs )

I was going to have egg and spoon races and 3 leg races too
and then a ball toss game ( fake golf balls getting thrown into a clown face - eyes nose and mouth cut out .)

Then i was going to have a ballon pop game with the balloon tied on to the kids ankle and the other kids have to pop the belloons while tring to keep their balloon unpopped....

Do you think that is ok .... i will be having kids from 18 months old to 13 years old there.....
Thanks

Sounds like a lot for a 3 year old. Although I see you will have older kids there too. My 3 year old is not coordinated or interested enough to play any of those games, I don't think. Certainly not egg and spoon races. Most party planners say for this age to only have as many kids there as that child's age. Because they tend to get overwhelmed, have tantrums, etc. I would think the 18 mo. to 3 year old group would be happy just to run around or ride on things. The trick with this age is to keep it moving and keep it quick. It should not be all day, just an hour or two. Their attention span is too short and like I said they tend to have a break down at some point. So by they time they get there, have a ride or whatever, then do cake and presents, it should be about time to wrap it up. Just my ideas on this subject. Good luck!

Hi, I run a company that does theme parties for children and from experience I would NOT do the balloon pop, it really scares the little guys, the loud noise is too much for them and has even been a problem for our 6-7 year olds.

I have an example of a Super Hero party on my website (http://www.activityparty.com) that's tailored specifically for 3 - 7 year olds but an older child might enjoy it as well.

You can modify the superhero idea to fit your sports theme because the party is centered around going to "SuperHero Camp"

Hope that helps, I've written alot of detail about the party on my website http://www.activityparty.com so it should give you alot of ideas for yours.

Look under Theme Parties in the menu and then SuperHero Party.

Good luck!!! Dafne.
