Not allowing alcohol is not "uptight." In fact, you are only 17, why would you even consider alcohol an option?

not wanting to have a party for 17yr olds with alcohol doesnt make your mum uptight, im sure she has no problem with you having a drink at home under her supervision or something, but when it comes to having a party with alcohol for 17 yr olds who are wanting to drink to get drunk it makes her responsible for anything that happens to you or your friends.

consider how your mums going to feel having to look after a bunch of drunk teenagers, are you going to be impressed if anything gets broken? someone is sick in your house on your things? someone gets paralytic and needs to go to hospital, are their parents going to know they're drinking - not going to make your mum look very responsible to other parents is it? then she has to send everyone home hungover? Come on be fair!!!

Having said that im only 20 and yes i drink and get drunk and have for years, but i wouldnt expect my parents to be responsible in their own eyes or anyone elses eyes for my friends, if they say no dont go against that its just going to create Sh*t for you and for them in the long run.

anyway...tell us the plan for the party, will it be at your place or do you want it somewhere else, how many people etc, need a few rough details before we can start giving you good ideas.....

I found a sweet site that gives away free ideas, and I mean great ideas. Not your basic boring themes, but really creative ones.

Check it out, its rad.
