Sifu Cliff Au Yeung Wing Chun Seminar

I just had my first seminar with Sifu Cliff Au Yeung. It was great, and he took a real liking to me partly because I was wearing my Tao of Jeet Kune t-shirt I bought from Sifu Davis. He spoke very highly a few times about Bruce Lee. At one point he mentioned training with a friend in the Leung Ting lineage, until his friend told him they should find different sifus so they could compare notes. His first question when looking for a new sifu was "Well, who trained Bruce Lee?", which is how he found Wong Shun Leung.

We covered the Siu Lim Tao and its applications very extensively, and trained Wong Shun Leung's version of the Jik Cheung punch for intercepting.

The very different thing about this seminar was that a little more than half of it was spent sitting on the floor watching Sifu Yeung demonstrate, and draw on a white board. He really went into theory. It was great for somebody with experience. Somebody completely new to Wing Chun might have preffered a little more action, but he did use me for a bunch of the demonstrations, so I got a lot out of the whole thing.

The question and answer period was great, and thats where we got some information on Ip Man 3, and a possible Wong Shun Leung movie.

He mentioned that he will be making yearly trips to Hamilton, Ontario, and I plan on being ther for next years activities.
