DAN I totally agree with you about training as close to real life conflict as possible. I have had the priviledge of training with you and have experienced the dynamo explosive attacks that you deliver in your training feeds. Please DON'T EVER CHANGE that aspect of your training persona as I know it would be at least to me (In My Opinion) a disservice to my training. I personally don't need a routine set of feeds during JKD training except possibly during the beginning of a drill when I am trying to get the body feel of the drill. Our JKD training should never be confused with dance choreography. So to DAN all I can say is I can only hope that I have delivered the same REAL LIFE CONFLICT INTENSITY to you and others as you have to me. If I have not please let me know (I'm NOT sensitive) so that I can improve as a training partner and Future Instructor to ALL.
Now to Sifu's point I believe during training CONTROL is the key. Some even though this can develope over time seem to naturally live in the Matrix of neuro-muscular control and can flip that Intensity switch ON and OFF in a milisecond like SIFU. From a training perspective it is most important to have the ability to deliver an intense feed with broken rhythm, fakes, fients, etc... and turn it off right before contact occurs. Some practitiners like DAN have that reasonable control. Others like SIFU have TOTAL CONNTROL. Don't get me wrong we all have an off moment when someone gets tagged by accident. It happens. That's LIFE. But I'd rather drip a little, light pain blood in training than life threatening amounts of blood and significant pain on the streets. The main thing however to remember is what Sifu said in the last class. Become self aware and acknoewledge what aspect of training that you need to improve on. Then and ONLY then can you start on the road to correcting your shortcomimgs. If you know that you do not have the majority of control to deliver intensely without injuring your training partner then don't risk it and work on your control during your private time. No one wants to injure somebody and have that person missing training time. You also don't want to deal with the guilt.
Peace to ALL...
