Hello Wei Lin!
The main thing to understand regarding yin/yang and fighting is the relationship and constant interplay between hard (attack) and soft (defense). Conserve your enegy for the attack! Defense is secondary, but when necessary should be a parry (re-directing of the opponent's force) as oposed to a block (total stoppage of the opponent's force using physical force of your own). In other words, think of yin (soft) as the defense and yang (hard) as the attack. This helps make the attack/defense relationship easier to explain and understand!

"What is Jeet Kune Do (JKD)? Chinese martial art, definitely! It is a kind of Chinese martial art that does away with the distinction of branches, an art that rejects formality, an art that is liberated from tradition." __Bruce Lee
