Solo Training Schedule

Hey all,

I need some suggestions for creating a training schedule. I learn and practice JKD alone, aside from sparring friends that learn taekwondo or shorinji kempo or boxing or wrestling. The components that I need to incorporate are:
Single techniques
- Power
- Speed
- Correct form
Combinations
- Getting techniques to flow together
- Power
- Speed
Footwork
Defense
- Evasive
- Parrying
- Counterattacking

I plan to train 5 days a week. How can I do this without overtraining?
I've considered a hand day/ foot day but I don't know where to include the hand-foot combinations if I do that. Should power days and speed days be separated or practiced one right after another?

Although this may sound not JKD, I practice reps in the air for speed.
For power, I do reps on the punching bag.

It is very inconvenient that I do not have a practice partner, so I cannot hit focus mitts. Also, obviously I do not have access to so much training equipment that Bruce Lee had.

Actually, for everything I just practice reps, either on air or punching bag, or thrust-like kicks on tree. So far my training has been pretty random, I want a way to put it all together.

I don't need anyone to write out a full schedule, but something simple, like what days to train which component (e.g. single technique speed, single technique power, combination power, etc.)

Right, I have that book, but he includes so much apparatus in his training such as wall bag, double-ended bag, etc. He also lists in some other parts "punch - 500" and I do not know if this means 500 each punch or what. Anyways, he has different routines for different periods of his life.

hi dont dispare!!!!!

find out what works for you on your own bodys intelligence,be a instictive trainer, forexample (very simple) if I was going to do a long run,one day, I wouldnt do it agian the next day, your body will tell you what it needs, this is how body builders train,
they know by the end off the week they need too do xyz etc,but do it in no order.

give you an example, I train like this...say one particular day!!

monday,8am 10 mile run, 40to50%effort 2pm footwork,pads,sparring, working harder say 80%to 110% effort
7pm, say light chi sao and drills working at 40 to 60 % effort.
This is one particlar day as you can see im not trianing hard every session,

ok so I only have 2 hours a day if this was the case,

1)run,30 minutes 40 to 50% effort
2)footwork,sparring,pads,bags etc 45 miuntes 80 to 110% effort
3) CHI SAO energy drills 45 minuts 40 to 60% effort

total 2 hours
thats what I do if I was working in the day more at my job,my hours change all the time so therefore so does my traning.
