Sifu Davis,

A boxer punches and withdraws his hand very fast. Is it still possible to do trapping on them?

Boxing/Trapping

Hello Wei Lin!

You are thinking about trapping out of context! Trapping is not for snatching punches out of the air, but instead for removing obstructions on YOUR line of attack! In other words, you attack, they defend, THEN you trap to remove the obstruction on the line! In the proper context, trapping works against ANYONE!

Keep Blasting!

Dear folks,
Also, one might remember that "trapping" can mean a variety of positions, including simply causing one of an opponent's hands to "trap" or cover his other hand and its ability to strike..IF you can still strike with two...

Dear Geoff,
My intuition and having worked with boxers tells me nooo...one cannot even "see" a boxer's hands as they move constantly, then strike as though nothing had changed...

YOU CAN FOLLOW A BOXER`S HAND BACK AND PIN IT BUT HE WILL STEP BACK TO UN PIN IT,MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT STAND THERE AND LET YOU HIT THEM,I HAVE BOXED FOR 30YRS ON AND OFF,I HAVE HAD 7 ABA(USA=GOLDEN GLOVE`S)BOUT`S,IF YOU CLOSE DOWN A BOXER`S MOVEMENT(REMEMBER YOU ARE FIGHTING IN THE STREET NOT A RING)YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PIN AN TRAP,
