Abdominal Training

Hey guys,

I am still not seeing much progress with the lower abdominal muscles. I try and try, but nothing seems to work. I try many different exercises, and I've even thrown in a lot more cardio to compensate. Now I can see the top 6 very well. I've got the small ones---you know, the ones Bruce had; as opposed to Brad Pitt. :P

Anyway, could anyone help me out? I'd love to get it all as tight and firm as possible.

Another issue is the latissimus dorsi. I'd like to make my lat spread a lot larger, not just for aesthetics, but for strength too. All I can realy do with what I've got is pull-ups. But I've got other equipment and not completely sure if I can utilize it all for my lats.

Lower Abs

Hello Christian!

Anything that pulls the knees toward the chest is working the lower abs. Unfortunately, the lower abs, even though cut, remain pretty much smooth looking on just about everyone! It's just how we are made, and there is really nothing that can be done about it! If the upper abs are well defined and the lower still look pretty much smooth, chances are, it will be that way no matter what you do!

Male "Pooch"

Okay, so women get the pooch. Duh. Everyone knows this. But my problem is that my lower abs or the lack thereof stick out maybe half of an inch or less than the upper abs. Is this normal? Also, I'd just like to get it severely tight, as Bruce had. This is a purely aesthetic reason, but it's also an obvious sign of good work.
