First and foremost, thanks Mr.Davis for your reply to my post on the jab. Also, I want to train with Lance but income is a problem right now. I am a second generation martial artist in my family. I practice alot with friends and other dedicated martial artist. I hold to Jeet Kune Do by way of a Guy named Dwight Johnson. Also, I read the literature and train by myself.
Also, is it true that Brandon Lee also said that, " We all train in our own interpretation of JKD..." Also, I have read in the JKD Commentaries on the Martial way, that Bruce Lee wanted those interested in learning JKd to learn it and improve upon it. I believe to some degree there is a bit of stagnation, because if Mr.Lee was still alive the Art of Jeet Kune Do, will be even higher thatn what it is. I practice alot by myself as Bruce preferred. To better myself in the Art. I would like to be an instructor in this art but I teach what I know and sof safety sakes try to refain from calling it JKD. I seen alot of what Bruce didn't want coming to light.

Refinement ... Structural Minimization

May 9 2006, 10:38 AM

Bruce Lee was in a process of constant refinement, but what we have to realize it that was AFTER he had reached the skill level where he was, which was pretty much UNTOUCHABLE! He could effortlessly hit you at will, and there was NOTHING you could do to stop it! He was working toward having a very few moves that could solve any situation. The problem I see nowdays is there are many people trying to get the end result without putting in the necessary training to get to where Bruce Lee was. These people can never reach their full potential, because there will always be something missing! To get to a level close to where Bruce Lee was ... to become Jeet Kune Do, you MUST put in the necessary time to get there! Too many people are just flat out lazy, and want to reap the benfits without ever putting in the work to get them!

Keep Blasting!

"Hit Hard, Hit Fast, Hit First - ALWAYS!"

"What is Jeet Kune Do (JKD)? Chinese martial art, definitely! It is a kind of Chinese martial art that does away with the distinction of branches, an art that rejects formality, an art that is liberated from tradition." __Bruce Lee
