| Hi Lamar
I have just returned from a great seminar in Milan which was personally taught by Sibak Taky and Sifu Andy.
The event was attended by more than one hundred people and about half of these were Instructors from all over Europe.
Taky and Andy got a huge reception from the participants! The seminar was very well organised by Luca Marinello and his organisation and everyone learned a lot about JKD.
Taky emphasised that the true meaning of JKD is not to be a "tough guy" but to be a better person and make a good contribution to our families, communities and society.
I think that many of the participants had a much better understanding of JKD at the end of the seminar.
Taky who is now 82 years old was in great form and he personally helped students with hands on assistance and demonstrations. He is in amazing condition for his age and did the full warmup including many pushups, crunches ,punches and kicks.
During a demo no one could block his punches!
best wishes

I should have said that at the start of the seminar some of the participants appeared to me to lack the basic foundation and structure that is required in JKD. By the end of the second day they were starting to "get it"! |
