JKD Curriculum question for Sifu Davis

Hi Sifu!

I want to be sure I am working on things correctly.
So, I have a question about Part 3 Advanced Trapping
on the Level-5 Senior Skill section.

Is this on your trapping tapes? I am not sure
exactly what you are looking for. For instance,
the the double pak sao. Is that a pak against
the same arm or a cross-over to pin the other
arm, etc?

Volume 10 of your tape series sounds like it may
have these drills, but I wanted to be sure.

Also, I found out that Cross-arm chi-sao is on
volume 8 Engery / Sensitivity II. I forgot to ask
you at the seminar, but I found it on the tape.

Thanks for you help and have a great weekend!

Dick

Double Pak Sao

June 16 2006, 1:03 PM

Hello Dick!

Double Pak Sao is very easy, and you have done it many, many, many times! When you execute a Pak Sao on the opponent's lead arm and punch, the opponent parries your punch, but holds centerline with the parry. You immediately clear the line by sliding off the lead arm straight to the opponent's rear arm, executing another Pak Sao as you do so. Remember my analogy about the snake crawling from one arm to the other, then biting! Well this is the one! With the second Pak Sao executed successfully, your lead punch is now freed to fly forward into the opponent's face! Got it now?

Keep Blasting!

Thanks again!

Hi Sifu!

Thanks again! I knew there were multiple
possibilities, so I wanted to be sure we
were on the same page. I had also thought
about the Energy Change Trapping in relation
to some of Part 3, Level-5.

Once again, thanks for the info and another
great Instructor's Conference.

God bless you.

Dick
