Hello Sifu. While I understand that the bai jong is the fundamental position in jeet kune do. It is said that the bai jong is the vehicle you move through and that you don't start a fight from the bai jong. Could you please elaborate on this matter Sifu? Thank you.

Javier.

P.S. Will get the money order today Sifu.

Bai Jong

June 30 2006, 11:25 AM

Hello Javier!

While the bai jong represents the optimal fighting position to be in at the start of a conflict, it is not always possible to assume this position, nor would you always want to! Oftentimes because of your environment and the layout of things around you, it is best to just move from wherever you may happen to be, and then assume the bai jong at the earliest convenient moment! This is what Bruce Lee meant when he said that your tools should be prepared to strike from wherever they may be! I have a magazine article devoted to this very thing coming out soon!

Magazine Articles

June 30 2006, 11:53 AM

Hello Javier!

I actually have about six magazine articles completed and ready to send in! We have a HUGE photo shoot planned for tomorrow to get all of the photos done for the articles. I have not selected which magazine will get which articles yet! I will announce it here when a decision has been made so everyone can be on the lookout!

By the way, I also have FOUR new books written, and I already have a publisher! As soon as the photos are completed, they will be going to press! One at a time of course!

My New Books

June 30 2006, 1:08 PM

Hello Javier!

As you may or may not know, I have had over 100 articles published in various martial arts magazines worldwide! Many people did not get to see these articles, as publication started in 1989! I have had many requests over the years to turn many of those articles into books so that people could see what they had missed in past years! That is what I have done. The series is titled, "The Secrets of Jeet Kune Do", and there will be three volumes. Each article will feature all new, updated photos and some will include additional text not in the original article. There will be much to be learned from each book, plus each book will include an interview with me that occurred at various times in my career.

The other book is a Hardcore Jeet Kune Do Training book covering the basics of energy/sensitivity training, trapping hands, the mook jong and the one inch punch. It is more of a specialty book, designed to enhance close quarter combat abilities to the max!
