Hello Roy!
The drop step is where you take a large forward step with the lead foot, striking simultaneously to a lowline target such as the groin with a chop chuie or ping chuie! This drops the full bodyweight into the strike. After the strike lands you recover the distance with the rear foot, returning to the proper bai jong stance. The idea is for the strike to land either a slit second before or right as the lead foot touches down. This assures that you bodyweight goes into the strike instead of into the ground!
