Bruce was getting away from any and all junk. Jeet kune do is the base essentials. No wasted movement, energy or time. JKD gets straight to the point my hitting you is my defense. All other arts teach block then hit; jkd teaches (or it should be taught this way) that the hit comes first. By adding to JKD it becomes something else like concepts. Bruce was tearing away now people want to add. Doesn't make since. Also JKD conforms to you while you have to conform to any and all other arts.
