Hi Sifu!

Would you describe the main difference
between Gum Sao & Pak Sao?? I know Gum
Sao is a pinning hand, but they look
nearly the same.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

Dick

Gum/Pak Sao

October 13 2006, 4:46 PM

Hi Dick!

A pak sao can become a gum sao. However, most often the gum sao is used to pin one arm to the other during a trapping sequence. It is usually just for a split second, but it gets the job done! They both look the same, it's the attitude and intention that makes them different!
