Well, the dates for the Hardcore Jeet Kune Do Summer Camp are set! The camp will be held August 3rd, 4th and 5th! The fee for training will be $160.00 if paid through Paypal or in person by June 30th. $180.00 if paid between July 1st and July 31st. $200.00 if paid after July 31st or at the door. Please pay as soon as possible, as all fees will go towards acquiring the new building (please read below for more info on this) and getting everything ready for the event!
Here is the schedule:
Friday Night (3rd) - 7:00 to 9:00
Saturday (4th) - 1:00 to 5:00
Saturday Night - Dinner (time and location to be determined)
Sunday (5th) - 11:00 to 3:00
If all goes well, I will acquire the new building and have everything ready in time! In case you do not know what I am talking about, the building right next to my old kwoon in Oneonta has recently come available for rent! My landlord for the old building owns both of them, and has offered to rent the building next door to me as well. It is definitely the best building for a kwoon that I have EVER had the opportunity to get! Much better than the Homewood location, which I will be keeping also by the way!
This building is awesome, as it has a very large, wide open space for classes, seminars, camps, etc., as well as a great room to turn into a "Jeet Kune Do Showpiece" room for use only for the shooting of instructional DVDs and doing photo shoots, plus a smaller room that would make a perfect office for me! In other words, the PERFECT place to have seminars, training camps, the Instructor's Conference and other special events (as well as a perfect project planning work place for me). The floor has commercial grade carpet, and the walls are very nice, so very little work would be required to turn it into THE Hardcore Jeet Kune Do dream kwoon! Also, combined with the old location, there is a total of over 5,000 square feet! Talk about a huge kwoon! If I do get to do this, I can't wait for all of you to see the facility!
Oneonta is a cheaper place to hold events (cheaper hotels, cheaper restaurants and less clutter/congestion than the Birmingham area). It is a very easy drive, and there is never a lot of traffic to deal with! I used to make the drive in forty-five minutes from Irondale when I lived there.
If all goes well, we will secure this location and I can complete many projects that I have been needing to finish up! I hope to see as many of you as possible at the training camp, and I will keep you informed regarding the new location! Take care and God Bless!
