Trapping Issues!

June 30 2007, 1:12 AM

Hello!

Bruce Lee was a master of trapping hands. He could literally tie someone up in knots before they could do anything about it! There was definitely a LOT of trapping in the structure and curriculum of Jun Fan Gung Fu. Probably somewhat less in Jeet Kune do, but still a sufficient amount to compose a good bit of the structure and curriculum. The thing is, Bruce Lee had a tendency to work with different individuals on what seemed to be their strengths. He used them as guinea pigs to develop his own skills in various areas. In the process this made him better! He may have worked with one individual a lot on trapping, another on punching, while still another on footwork and mobility. In this way, he made their strong points even stronger, while further developing his own skills by working with the individual!
