Hey Sifu, just wondering what you think of this workout routine. This is the one that nearly killed me. Do you think it's too excessive or not too bad?

Not Too Bad

July 12 2007, 10:41 PM

Hello Erich!

That doesn't look too bad, but still it is quite a bit different from my workouts! I really didn't like some of the movements suggested, but with only two sets of each exercise per bodypart, not an overly strenuous routine! If you like, the next time we get together we can discuss some possible workouts for you.

Thanks

I was just wondering if it was me. I'm actually still following this routine, except I've cut down on some of the exercises, and of course I've stopped training legs so I can concentrate more on kicking.
The leg exercises seemed to have messed me up, as I was doing squats and deadlifts for my leg exercises, since I have no access to machines. I'm sort of easing back into into it now. I think I rushed myself a bit last time and was getting too concerned about the amount of weight I was lifting.

Things That I NEVER Do!

July 13 2007, 6:49 AM

Hello Erich!

Squats and deadlifts are two of the things on my "exercises to NEVER do" list! I feel that the dangers of the exercises and the potential future problems with knees, back, etc. are not worth the small benefit that you might gain from doing these exercises. Then when you consider the loss of flexibility, they become TOTALLY USELESS to us!
