Hey guys
If you can post any training aids that you find beneficial to martial arts training that would be great. Anything from wooden dummies to practise structure, hand grippers for forearm strength, ankle weights for footwork etc. Basically anything that you guys have found beneficial to your martial arts training.

Anything that can improve punching, kicking, flexibility, core strength, endurance....anything and everything to do with martial arts training.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Tom

training aids

hi there tom, for me the heavy bag is vry useful for power and endurance training specially if u would put combos together and hit non-stop,focus mitts is also one of the best it teaches accuracy, timing, speed and distance, double end bag teaches u to be accurate, speed and timing are also developed. you can perform the leading straight punch and eyejabs on it plus it teaches you how to bob, weave and evade blows. also use weights like barbells and dumbells to enhance both speed, power and the overall strenght of the body. do situps for core strenght. plus a wing chun dummy. hope this helps. p.s. take supplements.

Be Careful!

July 27 2007, 11:24 AM

Hello Tom!

I know that we have discussed many things by way of email over the past few months, but one of the main things that I can stress to you is safety! In your training, whatever you do, be very careful not to damage your back in any way! Anything that involves the lower back should be approached with caution, as it effects virtually everything that you will do in martial arts! For instance, when training with weights, start with lower weights and move up very slowly, as opposed to starting off too heavy and hurting yourself. Sometimes when you have been training for a while and are warmed up very well, it is easy to hurt yourself and not even know it until after you cool down, possibly even hours later! It is much better to be safe than sorry!

Keep Blasting!
