Hi
I have been putting on some mass for the last couple months throught weight lifting but I am not too satisfied with my definition. Is there anything I can do to improve my definition? I heard you can do cardio work with a work out to improve but I don't know if this is true, can anyone clarify?
Thanks
Tom

P.S. Thanks Sifu Lamar for recommending those supplements for me while I was training. I could definitely see a slight improvement, much appreciated

Hello Tom!

Most of definition is in your diet! Cut out as much sugar as possible, as well as things that the body converts to sugar rapidly such as white bread, pasta, corn, rice, etc. Whatever sugar is not burned for energy will be stored as fat! Also, for the last set of each weight exercise that you do, cut the weight approximately in half and do speed reps (as fast as you can go while still keeping good form) to complete failure! That will not only help with definition, but also with your explosiveness in your martial arts movements! Finally, cardio helps tremendously with muscle definition. Do cardio at least every other day (if not at least some every day). Also, if you aren't already, you might want to take some kind of fat burning supplement to increase your body's ability to burn fat and speed up your metabolism a bit! Slow metabolism is one of the greatest causes of lack of muscular definition! Hope this helps!

Dropping weight

Hey Sifu, just wondering, should you rest as long as normal between sets, or should you just take the weight off and do as many reps as possible as soon as possible?

Normal

August 13 2007, 12:18 AM

Hello Tom!

Since you are going all out for as many reps as possible, you want to rest the normal time between sets. This will give you the recovery time to really go ALL OUT on that last set!
