Not only that, but don chi sao gives you a favorable environment for learning to execute the main defensive movements used in seong chi sao (boang sao, tan sao, fook sao, jut sao), as well as some of the attacks that you can execute during seong chi sao (yun jeong, chung chuie). It is also sort of a "beginning" flow exercise, teaching you the continuous flow from one movement to the next, both attack and defense. It also teaches you to dissolve an opponent's aggressive movement. This is what some of the more traditional martial artists might refer to as the "yin and yang" of movement! Hope that helps!
