Hello,

Just wondering how important pressure points are to JKD and if Bruce thought anything of it. (other than the bil jee)

I remember seeing a picture of George Dillman and Bruce Lee together so i assume they were friends or atleast knew about each other

Thought i'd ask

Lee & Dillman

December 17 2007, 9:06 AM

Hello Edsel!

I think that Bruce Lee and George Dillman were pretty much just casual acquaintances. I don't think they spent very much time together, and definitely don't feel that Bruce Lee got anything from him! Bruce Lee was very much into striking vital targets (eyes, throat, groin, etc.) but not so much "pressure points", as he preferred the simple to the complex! In other words, what gets the job done quick!

why fixate

December 17 2007, 1:28 PM

Pressure points are good to know but why fixate on them. By this I mean why try and strike with pinpoint accuracy when one could throw a punch to the face and hit the nose, eyes, temple, throat, jaw and/or any combination of these. Why try and pinpoint just one target that is small. Hit them, disable then and then you can try pressure points. Too complicated for a real fight. Smack the nose or crush the groin area as these are very good pressure points.
