Hello Sifu,

What are some of the targets for using skin pinching in self defense situations? Any extra details you can give regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

but usually if you can grab/pinch someone you can hit them. If all you can do is pinch then pinch away and twist the skin.

Hello Rene!

The skin pinch is used when someone has you in a bear hug from behind, with your arms pinned to your sides. Reach behind with either hand to the front of the opponent's thigh. Grab skin, pinch and twist. That is an EXTREMELY painful place to pinch! Most people will let go pretty quick!

Hello Rene!

Anytime you find yourself in a situation where you can use the opponent's hair against them (hair immobilization attack), by all means go ahead and do so! In close, grab the hair from the front and fire a short, quick forearm smash into their nose/face with the same arm. Grab the hair, pull the head back and fire a palm up chop to the throat (end of Bruce Lee/Bob Baker fight in Chinese Connection). Use the hair to lop sao the head and snap the neck (I call a pony tail a lop sao waiting to happen). Grab the hair with both hands and drive the face into an upcoming knee. These are just some examples for you. You get the idea!
