Hi Sifu,

I have a variety of Focus Glove positions ("right lead double glove feed position", the positions for low-high/high-low hooks, high-low/low-high backfists, glove facing downward with the other hand bracing, the position for training the rotation chung chuie, as well as positions for training the lead punch, the side kick and the shovel hook - where the glove is held out to the side). Also, there is a position where one glove is facing the partner and one is facing the floor (to train Jik Tek to Chung Chuie for example). Are there names for these different positions? Also, are there more that I didn't list?

Hello Rene!

Technically, there are no "proper names" for these positions, nor is there a list anywhere of all of them. Why, you might ask! Well, it is because the list would only be limited by your imagination, and the number of combinations that you could come up with, which would be pretty much endless. You could drive yourself crazy trying to list all of the possible combinations! This is under the category that you will sometimes hear me refer to as "senseless clutter" or "overcomplicating this art". Rather than try to memorize or limit yourself to a set number of focus glove postions, free your mind by simply knowing that there is an endless number of possible combinations, and if you want to train something, JUST DO IT! Hope that helps!
