As most of you may or may not know, our gung fu brother from the UK, Mr. John Bourne, has recently been a victim of the system. He was recently forced to defend himself, and used his gung fu to keep from being seriously injured by his attacker! The attacker pressed charges against him. It went to court and the attacker won! As ridiculous as this may sound, more of that goes on these days than we realize! Anyway, John needs our help! The total amount of all of his fines, court costs, etc. has come to 765 British pounds! Needless to say, he doesn't have it! If you would be so kind as to help John out here, I know it would be much appreciated! I was just curious how the court found you at fault while defending yourself? I know here in the states you have to stop at a certain point in the defense. Example, if you defend yourself and you manage to get the person on the ground and he isn't fighting back you have to stop or if he runs away you can't chase him down and keep beating on him. Not saying you did this, just curious how the court found you guilty and how far you went in the defense. I will be sending money today through paypal to help you out.
Lance my initial blow had little effect, he then started to hit at me and I chain punched 3-4 times whilst covering my head from his blows and drove him back away from me, I immediately stopped and pulled away backwards...ish because I now had an escape route (left,right or behind..ish) the threat had changed as had my situation. The bench felt because of my skills I should have diffused the situation.
Wow, that is crazy. How are you suppose to defuse a situation while getting punched? I just sent you some money via paypal. Not much but hope it helps. I work in corrections and I know the outcome would have been different here in the states. All the best to you and hope you make it out of this ok.
I know how it is to be held at a higher standard it sucks!! No matter how things go down it will always be your fault because people expect more from you. This could even affect your defense in the future because you will think about your current situation. At least for me it has helped me to mature to the point where I would rather swallow pride and walk away from something small and only defend myself if really needed. Even still sometimes I would just prefer to let NOSES EXPLODE! but thats the breaks.
