Hi Jason!
You are talking about a defensive trap. In that situation, wu sao acts as a backup to boang sao, and the grab is not over or under, it just simply "is". In other words you grab with the wu sao hand, which will be behind your boang sao, so just lop his wrist and roll the qua chuie, or hit low with ping chuie! It is when they defend against YOUR attack that you want to try to grab underneath with the lop sao! Hope that clears it up for you!
