I was off today and treated myself to a movie. I watched HAYWIRE with Gina Carano, who is a former MMA fighter. There were some nice moves. All star cast.I recommend it!

Irish Police (Gardai) get kicking

January 23 2012, 2:41 AM

Hi have not yet seen Haywire, but my brother saw on Friday. His oppion: no oscars for the acting but the fight sense are great and Gina is amazing. Also he said it was amazing to see Dublin City being used in a proper action movie long over due.

Also our Rapid Response Team (our version of your SWAT teams and our only armed police officers)get a good kicking yet are potrayed quite well. Note: the 4x4's they arrive in are supposedly the real ones they use, which where originally owned by a big time drunk dealer and when confiscated after he was brought down the Goverment gave them to the R.R.Team.

It's against the law here to own a gun like wise a bullet proof vest unless your a member of the Police or Military. These 4x4's are what lead to the dealers down fall.

Sorry for the ramble.

James

Haywire

I thought it was a good movie, but felt like there could have been more action! There were some "lulls" in the story at times, and considering that I was up late the night before, I almost fell asleep in the theater a few times! Nancy said she could tell I was bored with certain parts of the film! LOL I did like the fact that they didn't use the "shakey camera" upclose shooting style for the fight scenes. You could actually see what was happening, and didn't get a headache trying to follow the action! I agree with everyone who thinks the fight scenes were good! Let's hope this is just the beginning for Gina's film career! happy.gif

The Expendables 2

February 26 2012, 8:04 PM

I was watching an old episode of "Walker". It's obvious that Norris uses a stunt double, even when kicking. I just wonder to what extent he will be used in The Expendables 2?
