They look dark because the pupil appear quite dilated.. they are in low light in the room and the pictures are with a flash, it looks like... but the only one I can see (I only see three pictures) are the ones on the little guy on the papers... you can see a very pale-colored iris around the darker, dictate pupil... it is difficult to tell, but what little iris I can see in the pictures, they look pale - I think the first picture is from a good distance, but the lighting is such that it is hard to see the iris at all... hopefully Ione has seen these guys and will let us know. While there are albinoids with some pigmentation in their eyes, it is not the normally distributed pigmentation that they would have if not for the albinistic defect.
