Being responsible enough to crop? Since when is cropping a responsibility?? Feeding, watering, shots heartguard, those are responsibilites. Cropping is simply a purely cosmetic procedure done for the taste of the owner. If we want to get down to the nitty-gritty, cropping doesn't benefit the dog in any way & in fact removes the protective ear flap & causes the pup pain & exposes it to the danger of anesthesia (sp?) needlessly. If we cut thre wheat from the chaff, it's probably better & more safe for the dog to remian uncropped. Now don't get me wrong I like the cropped look & every Dobie I owned was cropped. But to say cropping is a "responsibility" one should undertake & chastise one for not taking this "responsibility" is absurd.
