This is a boring, dead forum. No wonder though, since it's nothing but tripe here.

To refresh your memories......

Nancy Muniz >For anyone whos been attacked by her

Hi Cheri --
Jay Kiper here in Houston. I'll enlighten you and everyone else on
this list on the subject of Nancy Muniz. Before I do that, she has
a couple of other internet identities "doglover_51"
doberman@tmail.com and "ausidobe" ausidobe@yahoo.com
I'm going to describe to you all how I aquired by 4th doberman, his
name is Windsong's Calvin Klein v Meroke "K.C." He started his
journey to me on April 30, 2000 when he was was whelped. His
breeder, the late Carol Shipley-Vagnonne, sold K.C. to a family in
New York only to have him returned. He just wasn't the right dog for
them. K.C. was registered to the family until he was returned to
Mrs. Shipley-Vagnonne. Carol decided it best to reregister K.C. back
to her so that she would be listed as his owner.
Along comes a woman named Nancy Muniz. She decides for one reason or
another that she'll take K.C. in as her dog. Carol is obviously okay
with this. Then something tragic happened......Carol passed away.
K.C.'s registration was never changed until 6 mos. after her
passing. Then the papers were registered to her husband, Mr. Louis
Vagnonne. No papers were transferred to Nancy, but a co-ownership
agreement is executed. Although, the funny thing about that co-
ownership agreement is that the only signature on the co-ownership
was Carol's. Nancy signed it for the first time right in front of
me when she was giving me all of K.C.'s records and paperwork when I
took him. We were in a parking lot of a church in Refugio, TX
between Corpus Christi and Victoria. Nancy proceeds to lay claim of
ownership for K.C., and she even posts him on her personal website
as "[Her] new black dog" http://www.wysiwygdoberman.com/kc.html.
Then she moved from New England to Corpus Christi, TX and found a
handler to show K.C. in the breed ring. K.C. earned himself 3 points
and then was no longer shown in conformation for some reason. Ms.
Muniz did some obedience training with K.C., and took him through BH
but he did not pass.
I'll fast forward the story to one year ago in February 2003 when
Nancy brought K.C. to a kennel in Victoria, TX. Nancy's bitch(es)
had gone into season, and she was afraid that K.C. would breed them
on accident. K.C. apparently had a problem with getting out of
crates in the past. (I can attest to that...he's a pretty good
escape artist) I am unsure what the arrangement was between the
Kennel and Nancy, but I do know that the kennel contacted North
Texas Doberman Rescue in late December 2003 for assistance in
placing the dog in a good home. I received an email from North Texas
Doberman Rescue asking if the rescue I volunteer with, Houston Area
Doberman Rescue (http://www.hadr.org <http://www.hadr.org/>; ) could
come evaluate the dog for placement. So I went to look at him.
What I found the near empty shell of what had once been a great dog.
Nancy no longer wanted the dog, that much was obvious. The kennel
relinquished K.C. to me on January 1, 2004 because his boarding bill
from 02/03 to 01/04 could not be paid.

End result is that K.C. is laying on the couch here at my house in
Houston looking outside watching the kids walk home from school. He
gets on very well with my spoiled cats, and the other dobermans in
my household. He fits in nicely, and is currently going through a
basic obedience class. We tried basic agility last month, but until
I can work thru some dog agression problems relating to him being
confined in a run for TEN MONTHS and continue to built a better
relationship with K.C., we are putting agility on the back burner.
He's a very good dog, not shy at all, totally devoted to his family.
He comes closer and closer to being his old self every day. One day,
he will be that dog I saw at the WAE in May 2002, and the dog that
Nikki McClendon remembers handling in breed. I'll train with K.C.
until he's ready to trial in Obedience and Agility...or maybe we'll
try tracking...who knows.
His life started fresh on Jan 1, 2004. All I know is that this dog a
good work ethic. He has drive, energy and is couragous and
protective...exactly what I like in my Dobermans.
Nancy, I am not doing this to spite you or as a personal attack. I
have nothing against you, other than the fact that you
***ABANDONED*** a dog bred by a friend of yours. I have been
personally questioned as to why I have this dog, where he came from
and if he is rescue dog. Yes, he's a rescued doberman. No he did not
officially come through any rescue organization...but K.C. is as
much of a rescue dog as the next one. No, he was not abused, but he
was abandoned not knowing what happened to him, or why he was there.
You could not take care of him...even though K.C. devoted the first
couple of years of his life to you. I cannot hide the truth and I
will not lie about why I have K.C. What you did to K.C is
inexcusable and I never want it to happen to another Doberman. You
may wish it to be hidden or forgotten. However, the truth remains
and you cannot dispute it.
I have two purposes for posting this to a public list...the first
being that everyone out there needs to know what people who seem
nice and responsible are capable of. The second purpose is to make
sure that everyone knows what YOU, Nancy Muniz, are capable of. It
is my sincere hope that nobody ever puts another dog in your
possession. I hope that you chalk this one up to a learning
experience and reevaluate your intentions toward dogs and your
peers. None of this would have ever happened if you had just been
responsible with K.C.
Respectfully,
