These people sound good. But wanted to know if anyone knows how good they are?
whitedk9services.
I am looking at purchasing an doberman. But i havent made my mind up if i go for a puppy or get a older trained dog. My husband will know in the next few days if he is going to Iraq in Jan. And I am thinking if i am going to be on my own with childrenI might think of a gaurd dog, so here i am sitting thinking do I go puppy? do I go adult trained ? do I go rescue?? Either way I go I need to make sure it's the right choice.

Puppy wouldnt be much protection, trained adult would be top choice, but then i dont really think anyone is going to try anything with me and the kids because they know I shoot first ask questions later. And my thoughts are if I go rescue then I have a trained(house) dog and as long as people know i have a doberman they will probably stay away. At the same time some down falls.

puppy ---house breaking
adult---will they get along with my kids and my other animals...
rescue---all the above plus am I getting someone's problem child???

lots of choices to look at this is just one place because they are close and i can be more envolved in the training.
thanks for your thoughts on this

Not sure how many people are still on this board looks like it has been a few months since anyone has had much to say. Not sure how many of the old timers are still on here, been awhile since I have been here. So who knows ...

The outfit you mention appears to be a dog broker to me, meaning that he's selling dogs for breeders who could care less where their puppies/dogs end up. That is a giant red flag, IMO.
