he has a lifetime left on his family

Person first

Hockey player, entertainer second.

The millions were paid before, they won't be while he's on sabbatical or retired. If it's strictly about the money, he was paid for his services, he and the team owe each other nothing going forward.

Maybe it's just my perspective, but I think he owes his family more than he owes the Bruins. That's what it IS all about, anyway. And it's completely up to him, not us, to decide what "family matter" is more important than his employer. So he plays one more year, only to retire divorced with kids in trouble all their lives, while the Bruins and their fans move on to the next goalie.

While his personal life is his to decide, I DO think leaving the future up in the air is selfish. Retire, or don't, but give the team a decision. And no doubt he's a whack job, based on some of the things he's done in the past. Jeez, his kids MIGHT be better off NOT having a role model like him around more! wink.gif
