There was talk that no company would put insurance on him due to his head injuries. If they were unable to get insurance, the pens will be on the hook for the whole contract and against the cap.
Hopefully, the new Schenn will plaster that little puck into next year, and the Pens will have a huge cap hit to deal with..hahaha
We all knew this was coming, but I personally think it is nuts to give him a contract that long. Wonder if the league will investigate it..probably not as it's Crosby.
To me, this would be like giving Lindros a 10 year 80 million dollar deal, after Stevens put himinto the fetal position in game 7 of the ECF a few years back..just don't think it is a good idea.
