But he wasn't worth any 5.5 mil per year. No way, no how. And definitely not for that kind of term. This year might be a difficult one, but I'm glad Holmgren didn't drink any of the Kool-Aid; all of the free agent contracts that have gone out so far would be nasty albatrosses for this franchise.
It remains to be seen whether the Flyers can replace Carle within the system, or whether the weaker blue line will make Lavi focus a little more on the defensive side of the game. I think I'd rather see that than any pick up that's been discussed this year, anyway.
