But there's a difference in those offers and the offer sheet. A normal contract from Nashville would've paid Weber 7-8m over the course of a full season, if there is one. The offer sheet forces them to write a 13m check tomorrow if matched, then another 13m check next July 1st. 26m is much different than 7m spread out over 8 months.
I believe they're waiting because they're trying to convince the ownership group that they need to match, and also finding a way to round up 13m in cash.
