He's in the twilight of his career (38 in October), won the Norris, the Hart, the Stanley Cup, World Championships Gold Medal, two Olympic Gold Medals, taken 3 different clubs to the Finals, served as Captain of three NHL teams, been one of the best and toughest guys in the league for years, and is a sure thing Hall of Famer.
With how long this has kept him out and how he was ruled of the rest of the season and the playoffs in December speaks to the severity of his condition. I would hope that no Doctor in North America would give him the green light to get back on the ice.
